Message	and that small diameter makes me think it's a vacuum hose of sorts. Did you check the vacuum diagram and compare to your z? The only fuel line that short that I remember on the plenum goes from the fuel dampener to the fuel rail, there are two if i remember that go to the upper fuel rail. Double check everything.
